Auslan Workshops in Rowville

7-Sep-2024 | By Rebecca Redfern
MSA Training and Professional Development recently held an Auslan (Australian Sign Language) workshop in Rowville, led by Terence Childs, a native Auslan signer who has been deaf since birth. Participants learned the basics of finger-spelling and a variety of common signs through engaging and interactive activities, helping them build confidence and skills in communicating with deaf people.

This workshop, made possible by the generous support of Knox City Council through the Minor Grants Program, is the first in a series of three. The workshops are designed to provide participants with a foundational understanding of deaf culture, to reduce stigma, and promote inclusion within the community.

For those interested in acquiring this valuable skill, two more workshops will be held in Knox. To inquire about the next Auslan workshop, please contact MSA Training and Professional Development at 9905 3180, email msa-monashtraining@monash.edu or see website www.msatraining.edu.au
